ResumeRoast
Privacy Policy
ResumeRoast audits resumes. This policy explains exactly what we process and what we keep. The short version: your file is parsed in memory and discarded, the extracted text is kept only long enough to show you the report, and nothing you upload is ever used to train AI models.
What we process
- The resume file you upload (PDF or DOCX). It is parsed in memory and is never written to disk or object storage.
- The text extracted from your resume, the audit findings, and your score. These are stored so your report page works.
- If you sign in: your Google account name, email address, and profile image, provided by Google sign-in.
- If you purchase: payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- A hashed, non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address, used only to enforce the daily free-scan limit.
AI processing disclosure
The extracted text of your resume is sent to OpenAI's API to produce the audit. It is processed under OpenAI's API terms, which do not permit training on API data. We do not use your resume to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
Retention and deletion
- The uploaded file itself: discarded immediately after parsing.
- Extracted text and audit findings: automatically deleted 30 days after the scan.
- You can delete everything sooner: the "Delete all my data" button on your account page hard-deletes all your audits, extracted text, and reports instantly.
What we never do
- We never sell or share your resume or its contents.
- We never use your data to train AI.
- Share images show only your numeric score and our name — never your name or any resume content.
